This discography is a non-commercial labor-of-love and is in no way associated with any business firm. All I know about the resp. artist's / label's musical output is shown on this page. To purchase out-of-print records I recommend an ebay, gemm or google search. And - sorry for that - I have not the time to answer any e-mails asking me about further information, let alone duplicating out-of-print recordings I happen to own.Stefan Wirz www.wirz.de |
Dick Rosmini 1936 - 1995
"After complaining about his guitar during a show in Los Angeles, Kottke was visited backstage by Dick Rosmini, whose Elektra record Adventures of 6 and 12 String Guitar Kottke loved. Rosmini told him, 'You know, it really doesn't matter what guitar you play. It's all to do with your playing,' Kottke recalls. 'And he picked up this guitar that I had just been whining about and made it sound beautiful. Stunning. He had no [finger] picks on and had no trouble whatsoever making it sound wonderful. Then he left.' "
Jim Ohlschmidt in Acoustic Guitar, Nov./Dez. 1992
"Dave van Ronk learned 'Sweet Substitute' from Dick Rosmini. He and I, apparently, learned it from the Jellyroll Morton recording we start with, but I still play Rosmini's guitar part."
John Diebold: Trying to drive my blues away
"When you worked with Roz the whole was always more than the sum of its parts."
Dave van Ronk †: Liner notes to "The Folkways Years 1959 - 61"

"Dick, in my opinion, is a talent to be reckoned with. Besides being an extraordinary six- and twelvestring guitarist, banjo player and folk singer, he also writes beautiful songs and adaptations, notably - in this album - Alberta and Mary Ann. Richard, thank you for making this such a rewarding and exciting experience!"
